SPECIAL PROVISIONS FOR PARKING STRUCTURES AND BRIDGES

For structures with MOVEMENT, the following provisions have been provided. When executed, this document becomes an addendum to the IMX Warranty Document and all general terms of that document apply to this new document.

INTENT: Realizing that structures under load will have movement that may be beyond the normal scope of the Xypex Chemistry to repair hairline cracks, specific identified cracks will be repaired by IMX Technologies or its assigned certified applicators.

QUALIFICATION: Only projects using Xypex Admix purchased through Specific Certified Ready Mix Suppliers qualify. The projects must be designed by licensed Structural or Civil Engineer, or Certified Architect. The design must include minimum steel requirements and joint and transition details. Project must also meet requirements outlined in Document “Xypex Admix Design Requirements” and must be pre-approved by IMX Technologies. Project minimum size requirement is 200 Cubic Yards. The warranty paperwork needs to be in place and processed with full payment for product along with validation by payment of 10 cents S.F. prior to submittal for reimbursement.

INSPECTION: At a minimum of 30 days after final Concrete Placement, project will be inspected for cracks in Concrete. This inspection shall be done by IMX Technologies together with Owners Representative or Project Manager and may include the Design Engineer or Architect. The purpose of this inspection will be to:
1. Identify cracks that may cause leakage.
2. Note deficiencies including breeches of warranty and A.C.I. guidelines.
3. Provide a remedy to repair those cracks.

EXECUTION: Cracks will be repaired using one of two methods.
1. Smaller random shrinkage cracks over .04 mm (1/64”) and under .1875 (3/16”) will be V-routed and caulked as per standard acceptable methods. (See CSI 079200.)
2. Larger visible cracks over .1875 (3/16”) that transcend completely through concrete slab to be Deep Cut minimum ½” wide x 1¼” deep, and treated per Xypex Moving Crack Repair Specifications. (See Xypex Specification and Application Manual.)

On a project of 200 Cubic Yards, IMX Technologies will reimburse repairs as follows:
1.V-Route and Caulk up to 100 lineal feet (see 1. above) or
2. Up to 7 lineal feet of moving crack repair (see 2. above). Each additional 100 Cubic Yards qualifies for 50 L.F. Type 1 or 3.5 L.F. Type 2 repair. Determination of which cracks to be V-Routed, bid administration and payment of contract shall be by General Contractor or Owners Representative. Reimbursement made by IMX upon completion of work and submittal to IMX. Please allow 15 days to process payment.

LIMITATIONS: IMX Technologies reserves to the right to suggest scheduling repairs in the future to allow Xypex Crystallization to work or to allow for more favorable weather conditions. Notification to tenants, flagging and traffic control is not included as part of these provisions. If additional repairs are required they shall be done at a rate of $2.50 L.F. for Type 1 and $35.00 L.F. for Type 2. IMX Technologies shall not be responsible for any incidental or consequential damages.

This provision becomes an addendum to Warranty and is agreed to by Signatures of parties below.
